MSME REGISTRATION
The Government of India has introduced various schemes, incentives, and benefits to support and promote MSMEs. To avail of these benefits, MSMEs need to register themselves under the MSMED Act, 2006, which defines the criteria for classification and registration of MSMEs based on investment in plant and machinery or equipment, as well as annual turnover.
The MSME registration process in India was revamped in July 2020 with the introduction of the Udyam Registration portal.
